The wee hours of this morning my cat decided to meow and claw and basically make it impossible for me to sleep.  So, I got up. I discovered that we didn’t have power.  Good kitty woke me up and so dh wasn’t late for work.  Isn’t God good!!!  And because God is good all IS well.  Here is a wonderful song to help us remember this.

A fun and quick gift idea is buy the large size candy bars and print out snowman face wrappers.  Add a hat and scarf and you have a super quick gift.  My girls have made 32 little hats for these using a small round loom (In the Attic mitten loom), as a favor for one of our neighbors.  Or do a search for candy bar wrappers and find a different printable design.

Want to include a gift for the pets of your loved ones?  How about making some doggie bark with the children?  Or for cats what about making some catnip toys?  Fill the toes of old socks (have any with holey heels?) with fluff and catnip. Add a jingle bell and sew up.  Kitty toy on the quick 🙂 Or if you crochet this pattern is super fast and easy and our kitty loves his.

And here is our Scripture for today:

Isaiah 25:6-9

New International Version (NIV)

 6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare
   a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
   the best of meats and the finest of wines.
7 On this mountain he will destroy
   the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
 8 he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
   from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
   from all the earth.
            The LORD has spoken.

 9 In that day they will say,

   “Surely this is our God;
   we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the LORD, we trusted in him;
   let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Today as we go about our last minute preparations, let us remember why we celebrate at all.  Without Him there is no reason for this season.
